TRIPADVISOR - PeterV1 - 13 Jan 2020 - - - River of dreams - - - From the time you arrive the staff spoil you. They genuinely try to make your stay as pleasant as possible. This is a destination where as a first-timer I was surrounded by guests who have been coming to Umngazi for many years. 51 years to be exact for one of the guests I met! And the reason is clear - the setting. The property is situated at the river mouth which allows easy access to the river for water sports as well as to the ocean. It is very family-oriented and it is always good to know that your children will be well taken care of in a safe and accommodating environment. Safety and the general ambience are great features. Be ready to eat and eat! There are 3 meals served each day with snacks in-between. If you go hungry you only have yourself to blame. And the meals are really great. A great selection every day with variations on the menu daily. There is a seafood buffet on Saturdays and a traditional meat "braai" each Sunday. You will leave there a few pounds heavier for sure. A very good destination for relaxing or socializing around the pool and pub area. You will always find someone ready with some interesting conversation.
