Our recent visit was the third in the last eight years. From the moment the security guard cleared us to enter it was like we had crossed the border into a foreign land. Utter peace and tranquility supported by an amazing team of people. Outstanding breakfasts, lunch and dinners as well as morning and afternoon teas. Activities range from just chilling to strenuous hikes and sports games. A daily entertainment menu encourages one to get involved in the Umngazi lifestyle.
The level of excellence has been raised yet again since Keith and Nicole arrived. We enjoyed regular chats with Nicole and the duty managers at most meals. Umngazi staff and management do not host their guests, they engage their guests. Whether the staff member was tending the garden, waiting on guests or managing the processes they all greeted us with a friendly hello or a wave. The hospitality is amazing. Good use was made of the recent lockdown with all amenities spick and span. Everything is spotlessly clean and above all everything works. Chef Nico has been there for seven years and we hope his skill and talent remains at Umngazi for many years to come. COVID protocols were strictly enforced and very welcome.
Initially from friends. Umngazi is a place of many happy returns.
