GOOGLE - Wendy Balcomb - 15 Feb - "As part of a group of ten friends - over 70 who have just returned from this Magical spot, I’m certain our stay will always remain a warm memory - four days of catch-up, sharing and laughter. I highly recommend Umngazi mouth bungalows as a holiday venue for families, couples, and groups of friends. Read details below. Rooms: We loved the clean white interior with bright happy colours of furnishings. The piping hot outdoor shower, tea station and choice of duvets or lighter blankets. Plug points were plentiful. Views breathtaking and silence peaceful with the lapping tide. Nearby activities: We enjoyed beach walks and swimming. A cruise up river revealed Fish eagle, kites and Kingfishers. Birding with guide Freedom (sans binoculars) was disappointing. We saw little on the short forest route he chose. Enjoyed walking despite. We enjoyed a massage as good as you’d get anywhere at the resort Spa one afternoon. We did not have enough time to enjoy the Gym or playing tennis. Maybe next year when we visit again. Safety: At no stage did we feel uncomfortable. The Goss family are greatly appreciated for uplifting the community. The locals shared their love of them and were proud to be employed or otherwise associated with Pat and Karin. Walkability: Paths to cottages are well lit and maintained. Bungalow numbers on the pathway would be a good addition. Food & drinks: Drinks we considered to be reasonably priced. Food variety and presentation very good and plentiful. We all ate too much as couldn’t resist what was offered. Tea coffee and cakes were served during the day. Noteworthy details: A casual relaxed venue in an outstanding position on lagoon with adjacent beach. All mod cons of Spa, gym, boating and excellent food in a quiet and peaceful atmosphere. We will return!"
