Tucked away on the Wild Coast, in the heart of Pondoland, and encompassed by rocky coastline, indigenous forests, secluded coves and breathtaking views of the Indian Ocean, lies the award winning Umngazi Hotel & Spa. The thatch-roofed bungalows are situated amongst the indigenous gardens which provide the perfect setting for totally relaxed holiday. Weekly fly-in packages are available Friday to Friday from Virginia, Durban where you fly at 500 feet above sea level along the beautiful coastline – a wonderful way to start your holiday.

From the moment we stepped on the property the treatment we received was exceptional. The facilities and the food were top notch. We can’t thank everyone enough for a fantastic end to our SA vacation.
2. Tienie T - A bucket list item to visit
Umngazi was always a bucket list stay. Well we did it! Amazing location, friendly people, great food. The spa should be visited (do the couples massage with the bottle of bubbly included)

It really is Paradise
From arrival to departure, we had the best stay, and are thrilled to have gotten in at the ever popular Umngazi Hotel and Spa.
Simultaneously stylish and unpretentious, this piece of paradise provides the most wonderful getaway for families, couples and anyone wanting a fully catered, ultra relaxing beach break.
There is definitely something that the Umngazi team has gotten right in terms of the magic of the Wild Coast – supporting local communities in an integrated way through tourism, and maintaining a formula that works so well, it is difficult to find a booking!
We met someone who has been going there for 32 years. And we completely understand why.

Great family holiday in the wild coast.
Loved our holiday so much, we are returning again in May this year for another family holiday.
Whilst the guys enjoyed endless fishing days in the river, the ladies had a chance to relax in your luxurious spa, where the view is spectacular. Our room was sea facing and lovely and fresh. Beautifully quiet at night, with just the sound of the sea. A very memorable holiday and superb service from all the staff.

“Old School Luxury Holiday”
To be honest i was not certain what to expect when we booked at Umngazi River Chalets for our annual year end vacation BUT, i could not have scripted a better holiday.
From arrival to departure (10 days), there was absolutely no need for us to visit our vehicle, go anywhere OR do anything we didn’t want to.
Umngazi with its “Cordon Blue” chef and his professional staff cater to every single food idea that one can imagine.
the staff are next level in assisting and kindness.
what appealed most to me was how the youth (young children and teens) had entertainment, care and facilities arranged for them so that one almost NEVER saw them with any digital devises, ONLY playing or socializing on the facilities.
Beautiful setting…will definately return. Thank you!

If you want an “old school” holiday, where priority is children having fun and spending hours swimming, playing with others, being entertained, fishing AND NOT PLAYING on digital equipment then Umngazi is Heaven.
There is NOTHING to do except Rest and Relax for teens, kiddies and adults.
LOVED the holiday and will definitely return.

WILD COAST PARADISE
One of our most enjoyable and memorable holidays. It has a beautiful setting, pristine nature, wonderful views, relaxing, friendly staff and super-helpful and pleasant management. 7-star meals and service throughout.
