Tucked away on the Wild Coast, in the heart of Pondoland, and encompassed by rocky coastline, indigenous forests, secluded coves and breathtaking views of the Indian Ocean, lies the award winning Umngazi Hotel & Spa. The thatch-roofed bungalows are situated amongst the indigenous gardens which provide the perfect setting for totally relaxed holiday. Weekly fly-in packages are available Friday to Friday from Virginia, Durban where you fly at 500 feet above sea level along the beautiful coastline – a wonderful way to start your holiday.

From the moment we stepped on the property the treatment we received was exceptional. The facilities and the food were top notch. We can’t thank everyone enough for a fantastic end to our SA vacation.

Umngazi was always a bucket list stay. Well we did it! Amazing location, friendly people, great food. The spa should be visited (do the couples massage with the bottle of bubbly included)

We had such an amazing stay! From start to finish, the experience was seamless and welcoming.
Dining: The food was delicious. The chefs clearly put a lot of thought into the menu, ensuring a wonderful variety at every single meal.
Service: The staff was incredibly friendly and made us feel at home the moment we arrived. They even handled our logistics by arranging transport to and from the airstrip.
Wellness: The spa is a must-visit. Great variety of treatment options, but the real highlight is the view and that fresh sea breeze—it leaves your skin tingling and your mind completely at ease.
Facilities: All the amenities were great and well-maintained.
Highly recommended for anyone looking for a perfect coastal escape!

Best stay
Umngazi is a very special place. We are active people, so love the river to padel board up, do lovely coastal walks and we love the beach. We don’t have small kids so don’t spend much time around the pool as we prefer the beach. The accommodation is lovely and the food is out of this world. Overall an amazing relaxing 5 days.

Wonderful stay at Umngazi ⭐️
We had an amazing stay at Umngazi. Our bungalows were beautiful, just loved the outdoor shower. The staff were all super friendly and helpful. The food – I don’t even know where to begin. Plenty, wholesome, and super tasty. Overall, it was just pure bliss!

Absolutely Incredible Place!

What an amazing 5 day Holiday i would certainly recommend Umgazi Hotel , I have stayed in many different Hotels and most times there are a few things that you can comment poorly about , till the very last day there was absolutely nothing that I could ” pick ” out that was wrong or they could do better at.
Management was often present, the food was amazing, the rooms were comfortable the Spa has the most amazing views and the therapists friendly
