TRIPADVISOR - ohsnapbianca - 25 Oct 2019 - - - Special holiday at a special place - - - We had booked our Umngazi trip almost a year in advance, so were very excited when the time came to go. The drive from Joburg is a loooong one, but so worth it once you get there! The Port St Johns area is beautiful, the beaches are pristine and quiet (a far cry from the regular KZN beaches). Umngazi's location can't be beat. We stayed in a sea view cottage, which are perched on the edge of the river with a view of the sea. The bungalows are beautiful and comfortable, and we were surprised at how cool they were inside even on a very hot day! The spa was the highlight for us, we had 3 treatments during our stay. It's situated higher on the property so you have the most amazing views of the ocean while getting your treatment. The Umoja couples package is a must! Nothing beats a spa bath, a bottle of bubbly and an amazing view. Food was good, there was a good variety each day. Breakfast and lunch is buffet style, with dinner being a set menu with choices for the starter, main and dessert. The bar has a really good variety of cocktails, milkshakes and drinks. And the prices of the alcohol are really good - usually resorts nail you with alcohol prices, but like a single gin and tonic is like R35 which is unheard of. Staff are really friendly and helpful.
